HYDERABAD: Issuing a notice to the Telangana Private Medical and Dental Colleges Association in a contempt case, a vacation bench of the High Court on Thursday, directed private medical college managements not to ask for bank guarantee for 50 per cent of the fee payable by aspirants to PG medical seats.
The bench of Justice A Rajashekar Reddy and Justice T Rajani was dealing with contempt cases filed by the Health Care Reforms Doctors Association (HCRDA) and the Telangana Junior Doctors Association (TJUDA) seeking punishment to the managements for insisting on bank guarantee for 50 per cent of the fee payable by students admitted to PG medical courses in violation of the court order.
The HCRDA also filed another petition seeking direction to unaided minority medical colleges to accept 50 per cent fee in cash and a personal bond for the balance amount. On May 18 a vacation bench made it clear that admissions to PG medical courses in TS would be made on candidates paying half of the new fee and executing a bond for the remaining half.
