Two kids drown in Nagarjunasagar canal in Andhra Pradesh's Guntur district

The body of one kid has been fished out while a search is on for the other as police registered a case and are investigating.

GUNTUR: Two 12-year-old boys drowned in Nagarjunasagar right canal in Guntur on Saturday morning.

The class 7 students, K Dattu and J Ravindra, of a government school at Tallapalli village of Macharla mandal in Guntur district went for a walk along with their other friends in the morning. The group of friends stopped on the bund of the canal and went into the water for play. As the water was swift, the two lost their footing and got drowned.

Hearing cries for help by other children, passerby rushed to the spot and alerted the police.

The body of Dattu has been fished out while a search is on for Ravindra.
 
A case has been registered and the investigation is on.
