VIJAYAWADA: Recalling Prime Minister Narendra Modi taking objection to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s protest against non-cooperation from the Central government, Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan, CPM State secretary P Madhu and CPI State secretary K Ramakrishna have found fault with him (PM) for organising ‘Nirasana Deeksha’. The youth now doubt the sincerity and capability of Narendra Modi, they said.
Addressing a media conference in Hyderabad after chalking out their future course of action on Thursday, Jana Sena and Left party leaders extended support to State bandh called for by the AP Pratyeka Hoda Sadhana Samithi on April 16, demanding Special Category Status for the State and postponed their proposed protest march in Anantapur district.
“It is ridiculous on the part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who heads one of the strongest economic powers in the world, to go on ‘fast’ to protest disruption of the Budget session of Parliament along with his party (BJP) members,” Pawan Kalyan said.
He said BJP, TDP and YSRC, which have politically benefited due to disruption of Parliament and lack of discussion on no-confidence motion, are now staging protests over the issue. “If the discussion on no-confidence motion was allowed, several facts might have come out, he opined.
The Jana Sena chief said he has no respect for Narendra Modi as he refused to allow discussion to take place on the Special Category Status in the Parliament.BJP is more interested in its party’s resolution passed in 1997 over smaller states rather than respecting the Constitution, he said.
“When Narendra Modi entered the portals of Parliament for the first time, we all believed that he would uphold the sanctity of the Constitution and democracy, but his attitude and strategy with regard to the no-confidence motion has upset everyone,” he said.
