VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday night met Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy in New Delhi reportedly to finalise the poll alliance with the grand old party in the neighbouring Telangana State which is going to polls on December 9.
The TDP, Congress, CPI and Prof. M Kodandaram’s Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) have formed Maha Kutami to take on the ruling TRS in Telangana. The Maha Kutami for the last few days hit the roadblock over difference of opinion regarding seat sharing.
There were also reports that the TJS might pull out of the alliance. To give a final shape to the number of seats that Congress and TDP should contest and also to discuss the agenda of Common Minimum Programme, Naidu and Uttam are holding talks, sources said. TTDP chief L Ramana is also present during the discussions, sources said. It is learnt that Uttam flew to Delhi on Saturday afternoon with the draft of the party’s manifesto for the elections and the same will be submitted to the high command for its nod.
Before putting the manifesto in front of the party high command, the TPCC chief is likely to forge a deal with the TDP on the number of seats to be given to the latter. Some CPI leaders also met Naidu in Delhi.
