AP Food Corporation Chairman Chitta Vijay Pratap Reddy expresses concern over poor quality of mid-day meal rice

He further reviewed the implementation of central government schemes in the State and requested officials to submit a detailed report.

VIJAYAWADA: State Food Corporation Chairman Chitta Vijay Pratap Reddy held a review meeting on Thursday to assess the ongoing implementation of the public delivery system and various welfare schemes.

During the meeting, Reddy inquired about the execution of the public delivery system in the Women and Child Development Department, particularly through Anganwadi and the Mid-Day Meal Scheme. He also sought updates on the conditions of student accommodation in social welfare department hostels and the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana. The meeting also addressed various deficiencies identified by the officials.

Reddy raised concerns about dealers in Bapatla and Prakasam districts supplying low-quality rice and substandard food materials from MLS points. He directed officials to inspect the stores and ensure proper supply. He also questioned the food menu being followed in social welfare hostels and warned that action would be taken against errant officials.

He further reviewed the implementation of central government schemes in the State and requested officials to submit a detailed report.
