VIJAYAWADA: Asserting that the government has set a target to attract Rs 30 lakh crore investments and to provide jobs to 20 lakh people in the coming five years through the six policies adopted by the government, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said the government rolled out the policies to give best incentives to investors compared to other States.
He said a target was fixed to get $10 Billion through Foreign Direct Investment and create five lakh jobs in the manufacturing sector alone. Naidu declared that his government’s aim is developing the State into a global job destination.
“The main target of my government is providing employment to the youth. The goal of any policy that will be brought in is providing jobs to the youth as youth is our asset and if employment is provided to them they will create wealth,” the Chief Minister told the Assembly during the discussion on the six policies on industry unveiled recently.
The Chief Minister said the new policies have been adopted to move ahead with the plan of ‘Think Globally and Act Globally.’ If wealth is created, the revenue of the State will go up after which more welfare schemes can be implemented for the people,” Naidu said.
Stating that efforts are on to establish 22 lakh Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), the Chief Minister announced on the floor of the House that a corpus fund has been formed with `500 crore for setting up an innovation hub in the State.
“We will intelink 175 industrial parks with this innovation hub and incentives will be provided on a large scale if farmers come forward for setting up food processing centres,” the Chief Minister said.
He also said three Agency districts will soon be declared as organic zones.
Regretting that there were no investments in the State in the past five years, Naidu said unable to bear the harassment even those existing units ran away from AP. Service sector should develop if assets are to be created, he opined.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a vision of Vikasit Bharat-2047 by which time the country will become either number one or number two nation in the world. Novel policies are being adopted by the State to take Andhra Pradesh to number one position in the country by that time, the Chief Minister said.
The State has suffered a lot due to the destructive policies of the previous YSRC regime, Naidu said the State government will provide all kinds of support to those who come forward to invest here.
“I strongly believe that the public policies will totally transform the future of the State,” the Chief Minister observed.
