School bus overturns due to potholes, one student killed

In a separate incident in Nellore district, a student was killed when a Sri Niketan School bus carrying around 25 students and locals overturned into a canal between Salmanpuram and Minagallu villages in Buchireddipalem mandal.

The bus, which veered off the road after the driver lost control due to potholes, plunged into an agricultural canal due to a steering failure. The deceased, Kranti Sandesh from Minagallu, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital, where he later died. Villagers rescued the others, but the death has sparked outrage.

Locals accused school authorities of negligence, alleging the use of poorly maintained buses, and demanded strict action against those responsible for the tragedy.
