NEW DELHI: Acting on Shunglu committee report, Delhi LG Anil Baijal on Friday cancelled allotment of Aam Aadmi Party’s office situated in Rouse Avenue. According to the LG office sources, Baijal has asked the party to vacate its office with immediate effect.

It is uncertain that whether the party will now have to pay rent for the time duration they occupied the area or not. Sources are also claiming that in a couple of days, Baijal will act on other issues as well mentioned in Shunglu committee report.

A three-member committee headed by former national auditor VK Shunglu said this week that its examination of hundreds of files and decisions revealed that Mr Kejriwal's government had failed to consult the Lieutenant Governor for important decisions on subjects on which, by law, he must be consulted.

Shunglu panel in its report has said that the Delhi government took over 150 decisions by circumventing "fundamental provisions" of rules. The panel has said there were a significant number of files where the Cabinet note was prepared in ministers' personal section and signed by the minister concerned without the matter being taken up for consultation or circulation.

“The friends and relatives of AAP leaders are being promoted and posted. What is this if not nepotism?. If Kejriwal has an iota of conscience, he should resign from his post immediately...the matter is probed by CBI,” Ajay Maken had said in a press conference on Thursday.
