Munnawar Hassan murder: Delhi police recovers kins' bodies

According to the police, the accused filled bodies with heavy amount of salt before burying them so that they get decomposed easily.

NEW DELHI: Delhi Police on Tuesday recovered three highly decomposed bodies from Meerut area, identified as wife and two daughters of Munnawar Hassan, who was killed by his business partner.

A team of Delhi police recovered bodies from Daurala village in Meerut. 

“Local police as well as residents were not aware that three bodies have been buried in the village. For them also it was a surprise that three bodies have been buried last month in Daurala village. We have recovered bodies of all family members of Munnawar Hassan,” a police official who went to Meerut said.

To identify the bodies, Cops will ask for an forensic examination and DNA test of all bodies. 

“Bodies are partially decomposed and we have to ask forensic experts to conduct DNA test to ensure the identity. Accused are claiming that they filled more than 50 Kgs salt to decompose the bodies,” the official added. 

So far in the case, cops have arrested four persons including three accused who assist main accused Bunty in Murder. All bodies have been recovered by the police.

Matter came in light when cops arrested main accused Sahib Khan alias Bunty (27) in connection with the murder of Hassan. During interrogation he told that He eliminated entire family of of Hassan which includes, Hassan’s wife Sonia, two sons Aqib and Shaqib, two daughters Arzoo and Arshi. The bodies of Hassan's two sons were buried in Bunty's office in north Delhi's Burari. They were dug out yesterday after a confession by the accused.

“We had arrested Bunty who came to Police station on last Friday to file a complaint of missing of Hassan’s family. Later, on Saturday, Cops recovered body of Hassan from his residence situated in North Delhi’s Burari area. On Suspicion, we questioned Bunty who confessed the crime,” an officer investigating the case said.

Hassan who had fought local elections on BSP ticket has been convicted by a Delhi court in January this year. He had been lodged in Tihar jail for a rape case and was released on interim bail on May 17 as was missing since April 18.

“Bunty during interrogation said that he used to visit deceased’s house almost every second day. On 20th April, Bunty took Hassan's wife and daughters to their relative's house in Saharanpur. While returning to Delhi, Bunty killed all members with the help of a contract killer. After a day, when Hassan's sons reached Bunty's office in Burari to inquire about their mother and sisters, he also killed them,” the official said.
