Delhi government to develop 'oxygen park' in Burari, CM lays foundation stone

The project is aimed at providing residents with a well-designed public space that promotes greenery, health, recreation and community engagement.

NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday laid the foundation stone for an oxygen park to be developed across nearly three acres in Mukhmelpur village of the Burari Assembly constituency.

The project is aimed at providing residents with a well-designed public space that promotes greenery, health, recreation and community engagement.

The Chief Minister said the Forest Department had sanctioned `1 crore for the project, while an additional `1 crore would be provided from her MLA discretionary fund.

She directed officials to ensure that the park is equipped with modern amenities and developed to a standard that would place it among the finest parks in the national capital.

Besides building modern infrastructure, protecting the environment and improving the quality of life for city residents remain key priorities of the government’s vision for a developed Delhi, the CM stressed, adding, “The Mukhmelpur park would not merely serve as a green zone but would also emerge as a centre for health, social interaction and positive living for local residents.”

She noted that the Delhi government and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi have been working together to create more green spaces.
