BELLARY: Hampi Kannada University is all set to celebrate its ‘Nudi Habba,’ Festival of Letters-2008 on Monday.
His excellency Governor Rameshwar Thakur will preside over the function and confer the honorary degree ‘Nadoja’ on five dignitaries selected for their yeoman service in the field of literature, art, culture and research.
They are litterateurs Prof L Basavaraju, Prof U R Ananthamurthy, Prof Kamala Hampana, research scholar Dr Srinivas Havanoor and puppet artiste Yadramanahalli Doddabharamappa.
Minister for Higher Education Aravinda Limbavali will confer the PhD and M Phil degrees, chief guest and writer Prof Baraguru Ramachandrappa will deliver the convocation address, said Vice-Chancellor Dr A Murigeppa. The programme will start at 5 pm.
