KARWAR: Two persons drowned in two separate incidents at Kumta and Murdeshwar on Sunday, police said.
Naganand Shambhulingeshwar Joshi (26), a software engineer, drowned in Marakal stream near Kumta while he tried to rescue his father Shambhulingeshwar Joshi from drowning. The father swam back to safety.
In another incident at Murdeshwar on Sunday, Sheror (22), son of Shabbar Munna, drowned in the sea. He was a resident of Benson Town.
