BANGALORE: Congress candidate from Govindarajanagar, Priya Krishna — with movable and immovable properties to be worth Rs 770 crore — is among the richest candidates contesting the bypolls.
In addition to this, Krishna — who is son of Vijayanagar MLA ‘Layout’ Krishnappa — has taken loans to the tune of Rs Rs 734 crore from banks and other financial institutions.
He submitted details of his property while filing his nomination papers on Wednesday. Krishna has Rs 2,60,49,537 in cash.
Besides, he has deposits worth Rs 50 crore in 20 different banks. But there is no house or agricultural land in his name.
However, he owns nine sites in places like RPC Layout, Kengeri, Magadi Chord Road Extension, Harohalli and Nagadevanahalli, all valued at Rs 27 crore.
With an LLB from Bangalore University and an MA, he has invested in shares worth Rs 17 crore. He has invested Rs 88 crore for different purposes and his total business is worth Rs 680 crore. The owns five cars, including the Rs 74-lakh Audi. The cars are together worth Rs 2 crore. Krishna also owns gold jewellery worth Rs 12.61 lakh.
