BANGALORE: Amid roaring applause from the youth K Unnikrishnan, father of Late Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who died while battling with the terrorists during the 26/11 attacks, gave a rousing speech.

“I am not asking you (the youth) to join army and sacrifice your life. However, you should be fearless enough to face terrorists, who will then be incapacitated. How many can the terrorists kill? My wife and I are prepared to take on the terrorists,” he said. Unnikrishnan was speaking at valedictory function of BJP’s anti-terror campaign organised by the Department of Higher Education, Karnataka, here on Saturday.

He said that its high time that India demonstrates that it means business when it comes to tackling with terror to Pakistan.

Earlier the Unnikrishnan couple were felicitated by Advani. Stating that country has become a soft target for terrorists, Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa underscored the need for a concerted effort to root out terrorism.

Former union minister Ananth Kumar felt that military education should be made compulsory in all educational institutions. Higher Education Minister Aravind Limbavali said the awareness programme had become a necessity in view of growing terrorist activities in educational institutions.
