BANGALORE: Well-known singer of light music and film songs Sulochana (59) died in Mumbai on Monday evening. She was suffering from kidney failure for the last two years and her health was critical for the last two days.

She is survived by her husband Venkatesh and two children.

She became a household name through her songs sung for the cassette ‘Bhavasangama’.

She had sung songs for which Mysore Ananthaswamy and C Ashwath had composed the music.

Some of the films she had rendered her voice to were Ravichandra, ‘Kaakanakote’, ‘Haalujenu’, ‘Janmajanmada Anubandha’ and others.
