Arm reattachment surgery performed

HASSAN: Dr Abdul Bashir and a team of doctors of Mangala hospital successfully reattached the severed arm of Harish, an employee at KMF, recently. It was the first such operation performed in the district.

Dr Bashir told reporters that the arm was completely severed from the hand when Harish met with an accident while working at his company on May 23. He was rushed to Mangala hospital. Dr Bashir then sought the help of Dr Ravikumar, a vascular surgeon and Dr Mahesh, a plastic surgeon from Bangalore. The doctors strove the whole night to reattach his right hand.

The doctors have done a remarkable surgery, said the patient.
