MYSORE: All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Sonia Gandhi will inaugurate the Global Education Centre (GEC) II, an expanded unit of Infosys campus set up at a cost of Rs 800 crore, in Mysore on September 15.

The new single structure building for GEC II was built in about 15 acres in Roman style. Infosys had the rare honour of ringing the NASDAQ bell from its Mysore campus during the silver jubilee celebrations in 2007.

Now, with the addition of GEC II, the Infosys campus will be one among the largest training and education centres, capable of training more than 5,000 trainees at a time.

Security has been stepped up at the campus. An area of 100 metres surrounding the campus will remain cordoned off on the inauguration day. The police are preparing a massive security cover for the event.
