MYSORE: Prof V G Talwar, vice-chancellor, University of Mysore, may after all have his name cleared of his involvement in the sexual scandal surrounding Prof Shivabasavaiah of the department of zoology and research scholar Saritha.

Mysore city police are expected to submit a chargesheet against Prof Shivabasavaiah to the court shortly. A police officer told Express that the charges against the tainted professor of outraging Saritha's modesty has been proved.

The city police decided to submit a chargesheet against the main accused, Prof Shivabasavaiah, because the VC, who was facing charges of abetment to suicide, obtained stay from the high court to stop investigation against him.

Police sources said that no proof exists to prove his involvement. The registrar of UoM has reportedly given consent to prosecute Prof Shivabasavaiah.
