GULBARGA: Gulbarga University is organising the seventh Kannada Science Conference for two days from September 15, said varsity registrar S L Hiremath in a press note issued here on Tuesday. Hiremath said that 275 papers on science would be presented in the Conference in Kannada. 300 delegates are expected to participate in the conference.

On the occasion, two scientists of Karnataka, Dr S Ayyappan and Dr V R Panchamukhi, would be felicitated with Vishweshvarayya Vignan Puraskar-2011.

Dr S Ayyappan is presently serving as director general of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and secretary, Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE).

He has been selected for the award in the modern science faculty. Dr V R Panchamukhi is also chancellor of Sri Gurusarvabhouma Sanskrit Vidyapeetha and managing editor of Indian Economic Journal and he has been selected for the award in the faculty of Social Cultural Science.
