MYSORE: Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda said that a reshuffle in the state Cabinet will be implemented after an additional round of talks with senior BJP leaders visiting the state on April 25.

He was addressing the media at Lalith Mahal helipad here on Sunday. “A final decision on the Cabinet reshuffle will be taken then,” he added.

On the prevailing drought in the state, he averred that officials have been instructed to not forcibly recover loans from farmers in drought-hit taluks.

“We have been tackling the drought effectively by touring across the state; around `438 crore has been sanctioned for relief works till date. As the crop loss in the state due to drought has been estimated at `4,500 crore, an all-party delegation will urge the Centre to release half the amount immediately,” the chief minister said.

The chief minister also added that all district administrations have been instructed to employ diesel generators to ensure that no interruptions occur to water supply should there be interruptions in the power supply.
