Order on Ashwin's Bail Pleas Reserved

The Lokayukta Special Court reserved its orders on the bail petitions filed by Y Ashwin, son of Lokayukta Justice Y Bhaskar Rao.

BENGALURU: The Lokayukta Special Court on Tuesday reserved its orders on the anticipatory and regular bail petitions filed by Y Ashwin, son of Lokayukta Justice Y Bhaskar Rao.

Judge V G Bopaiah said the orders will be pronounced on August 17.

Earlier, Advocate Sandeep Patil, representing Ashwin, argued that there was a larger conspiracy to pin his client. Patil contended there was a delay in registering the case, but thereafter, FIRs were registered one after another.

PIL Adjourned

A division bench of Justice N Kumar and Justice Srinivase Gowda adjourned by two weeks the public interest litigation challenging the posting of P C Jaffer as Registrar of Lokayukta.

Syed Riyaz, an accused in the Lokayukta case, had an argument with Parappana Agrahara prison officials, accusing them of not providing him “special privileges”.
