Express News Service

BENGALURU: The High Court on Tuesday issued notice to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) and Medical Council of India (MCI) on a writ petition filed by Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) and the Rajya Vokkaligara Sangha, which runs KIMS.

The petitioners have challenged the order of a single-judge bench of July 8 directing them to pay `1 crore each to three students who were admitted to MBBS course at KIMS in 2014-15.

KIMS had admitted the students despite having filled all the seats allotted to the college. The admissions were eventually found to be illegal, and the students ended up losing a year.
