KMF Ignores Government, Names Own MD

Express News Service

BENGALURU:The Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) is at loggerheads with the state government, which had issued an order appointing a senior IAS officer as the new Managing Director (MD) following the retirement of A S Premnath.

Instead of accepting the order, KMF has appointed its own nominee and has requested the government to withdraw its order.

On Friday, the government issued an order appointing IAS officer S N Jayaram as KMF’s MD. However, on Saturday, the governing council of KMF appointed I R Ramalingegowda as MD and KMF chairman P Nagaraj has written to the government requesting it withdraw Jayaram’s appointment.

This is not the first time such an issue has cropped up between the government and KMF. Earlier, when the government had appointed Harsh Gupta as KMF MD, the governing council of the milk federation had not accepted the order and continued with Premnath.
