MP Angadi Wants IIT for Belagavi

BELAGAVI:MP Suresh Angadi has urged the state government to put pressure on the Centre to establish an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Belagavi. In a release issued on Sunday, he said that former BJP MLA Abhay Patil had submitted a memorandum signed by 120 legislators to the then CM Sadananda Gowda on establishing the IIT.

“Belagavi, though considered the second capital of the state, has not developed as expected. Except for Suvarna Vidhan Soudha no other major development has taken place. The IIT must be established here for educational development of this backward region,” he said.
