SHIVAMOGGA : Villagers from Sogane village of Shivamogga taluk became curious when they saw two helicopters landing at the proposed area for an airport, on Thursday evening and officials started unloading machinery.

Soon, people started speculating on whether the government was giving impetus to the construction of an airport. 

Additional Deputy Commissioner Channabasappa told Express, “A team from the Geographical Survey of India has landed in the city. They are in the district to take up survey work till March 2017. This team is trying to unearth the possibilities of various kinds of ores in the district.”
