MYSURU: Palace Board officials are under fire for allegedly allowing a pre-wedding photo shoot at the Durbar Hall inside Mysore Palace.

This raised a few eyebrows as no one is allowed to take pictures or shoot video in this high security zone.

The richness  of picture quality and lighting effect have showed beyond doubts that a set of people were engaged in the video shoot inside the Palace.

A couple was shot in the Durbar and  Kalayan Mantap as a pre-wedding package that will be played on the LCD TVs in the hall on the day of wedding.

Palace Board authorities banned cameras in the Durbar Hall and it is allowed only during Dasara festivities; that too with the permission of the Royal family and  officials.

There were video clippings showing a few officials and others watching the shooting standing near pillars.

The Palace is guarded by armed police and is under CCTV surveillance and the police are keeping a vigil on the movement of people.

Noted film producer Sandeshswamy said this could not be done without the cooperation of the people inside the Palace.

Recalling that Palace Board officials did not allow him to shoot film ‘Gowdaru’ inside the Palace, he said this incident has shocked him.

He said the government had denied permission to shoot Rajinikanth  movie Linga inside the Durbar Hall and the Palace.

However, they shot the movie in a private palace owned by the Royal family, he said.

He said the district administration should immediately act to uphold the sanctity of the century-old Mysuru Palace that is the most desired spot in the city as shooting of movies had been banned inside the Palace.

Mayura, a super hit movie of Rajkumar, was the last movie shot here.
