KALABURAGI: A minor girl was allegedly raped and murdered by a man and the accused allegedly committed suicide later at Kotnur (D) village on the outskirts of Kalaburagi city. The victim and her mother lived in a house owned by her relative Jayaraj Rathod, who worked as a veterinary inspector at Shorapur.
Vijaykumar, Jayaraj’s brother, lived in the same house. The mother said in her complaint that when she went out, Vijaykumar raped her daughter and killed her. He then locked the entrance door and hanged himself. The victim’s mother lodged a complaint at University Police station. She said when she returned home, she found Vijaykumar (45) hanging from the fan. Later, she broke open the door to find her daughter dead.
