MANGALURU: Alleging a provocative speech by M P Nalin Kumar Kateel could trigger communal violence in the district, Dakshina Kannada district Youth Congress Committee lodged a complaint at Konaje Police Station against him on Monday.

Nalin alarmed the police department during a protest meeting organised at Pajeer, near Mangaluru by Hindu Hitharakshana Vedike on Sunday, stating that if the accused involved in the murder of Karthik Raj were not arrested within 10 days, the whole district would burn. However, he rectified the mistake at the same venue and informed that the protest will be intensified and dharnas will be staged in front of police station if the accused were not arrested.

During the protest meeting, Nalin had alleged that the police department is acting like the agents of Congress party as the accused involved in the murder of Karthik Raj were not arrested even after two months.

However, the video footage of the Nalin's words went viral in the district. Alerted by this, district Youth Congress president Mithun Rai lodged complaint at the police station.
