BELAGAVI: State BJP faced another embarrassment after one of its MLCs ‘accidentally’ shared 56 nude pictures on a WhatsApp group in Belagavi.

MLC Mahantesh Kavatagimath (52) from Athani switched off his mobile after the incident on Tuesday evening. When reporters tried to contact him, he said, “The files were sent accidentally.”
The group  ‘Belagavi Media Force’ has members of media and top brass of district administration, including the DC and Police Commissioner.

Several members immediately exited the group and he group admin removed the MLC.

The officials refused to comment on it and said they did not want to comment. “The post shows his taste, Or should I say bad taste? The MLC is living a public life and cannot commit such a blunder. His leaning towards such content speaks volumes about the politician. How can one respect and respond in future when many of us including our women colleagues have to work with the same MLC?” said a senior official who did not want to be named.

Members of JD(S) said that BJP, which speaks about upholding the dignity of women, has once again been found on the opposite side of the fence. “Being a member of a group with journalists and top officials from the district, the legislator must be punished as per law,” said Yusuf Athani, district general secretary of JD(S).
