Five persons including a child were killed and another child sustained serious injuries when a car collided with a lorry in the wee hours of Saturday in Bidar district.

BASAVAKALUYAN: Five persons including a child were killed and another child sustained serious injuries when a car collided with a lorry in the wee hours of Saturday in Bidar district of Karnataka.

The accident occurred at around 3 am near Satapur Bungalow in Basavakalyan town, police said.

The deceased include two women, two men and a child. They have been identified as Mayur Chawla, Jenal Chawla, Bharati Chawla, Khayam Chawla, and nine-year-old Sunil Chawla.

Another child Trisha (2) sustained serious injuries and has been shifted to Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad. All the deceased were believed to be residents of Navi Mumbai.
