BENGALURU: Mystery shrouds the death of IAS officer Anurag Tewari. A senior police official from Karnataka who visited the crime scene said, “There are many unanswered questions. Though the post-mortem report says that asphyxiation was the cause of his death, many things still need an explanation.”

Asphyxia is a condition that arises when a person is deprived of oxygen. This causes unconsciousness, suffocation and even death. There are also wound marks on Tewari’s face which require further investigation. Also, he was not carrying his mobile phone when his body was found. Tewari was known to always carry his phone even when he went for morning walks, the police officer said.

Another police official said, “According to the police report, a local noticed the body lying near the guest house at 6.10 am. The local police managed to establish Tewari’s identity with the help of his identity card.

Police also found Tewari’s wallet, which had Rs 5,380 in cash and some debit and credit cards. Tewari had been staying in room number 19 of the guest house for three days.”
