Police arrest woman who posed as doctor

A woman who was pretending to be a doctor, was nabbed by Medical Superintendent of Basaveshwara Hospital Dr M R Pujar on Thursday morning.

KALABURAGI: A woman who was pretending to be a doctor, was nabbed by Medical Superintendent of Basaveshwara Hospital Dr M R Pujar on Thursday morning.

Dr Pujar said that while he was making rounds of the ward on the third floor of Basaveshwara Hospital, he noticed the woman wearing a doctor’s apron but he could not identify her. He thought she could be one of the 200 teaching faculty of MR Medical College or 100 house surgeons and an equal number of PG students.But when he came to the ward in the second floor, he again noticed her and she was speaking over the phone. He got suspicious because as per rules of the hospital, nobody should talk over the phone when on duty. Dr Pujar asked the security to bring her to his chamber.

Dr Pujar said that the fake doctor might have been wandering in the hospital four-five days and she was mentally sound. Dr Pujar informed the matter to the jurisdictional MB Nagar Police Station and a woman ASI came to the hospital and took the fake doctor in custody.Police said the woman is Ashwini  (28) and is suffering from mental problem.Her parents told the police that Ashwini goes to hospitals wearing white apron and to court wearing black coat. Ashwini has been handed over to her parents.
