UDUPI: Gururaja Poojary, who won a silver medal in the men’s 56 kg category weightlifting in the 21st Commonwealth Games 2018 on Thursday is likely to get a government job in the capacity of a ‘Group B’ officer.Sports Minister Pramod Madhwaraj has hinted that Gururaja Poojary is likely to get a government job.

He will also get `25 lakh as cash award, Pramod Madhwaraj added.“As per the sports policy released recently in Karnataka, Gururaja will get the government job,” he said.Expressing happiness and delight over the news through his twitter account, Pramod Madhwaraj said, ‘‘As sports minister and Udupi district minister, I feel very proud of Gururaja Poojary’s great achievement. Recently I myself had handed over the Karnataka Ekalavya award to him. Congratulations Gururaj on making India proud’’.
