BELAGAVI: After being connected to four cities, Belagavi will now be linked to Mysuru from October 27, revealed a tweet by Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha.

This flight is expected to boost tourism in both these cities.

In his recent tweet, Simha said that Mysuru-Belagavi and Mysuru-Chennai flights will be inaugurated on October 27.

Both the flights will be operational in the morning. The Mysuru route has been bagged by Turbo Mega (TruJet) and it had already mentioned that it would commence its services by October.

Under UDAN 3.0, Belagavi got 13 routes, of which four are operational and received an overwhelming response from travellers.

The Mysuru-Belagavi flight would be the fifth route under UDAN-3 to be operational in the next two months.

Besides, UDAN Belagavi has got three regular flight routes to Bengaluru, Mumbai and Pune. IndiGo is also expected to start Belagavi-Hyderabad flights in the next two months as it had bid for this route under UDAN.

It has also conducted recruitment for various posts in Belagavi to make its office operational at Sambra Airport.

Rajesh Kumar Maurya, Belagavi Airport director, said, “TruJet has not yet informed officially regarding commencement of its operation from Mysuru-Belagavi. It still has more than two months for announcement of dates.”
