BENGALURU: A 40-year-old medical shop owner was brutally murdered by four men in full public view on the Madiwala Main Road on Saturday night. The police have launched a manhunt for the accused. The deceased Suheil was a resident of Mangammanapalya and ran a medical shop in Bommanahalli.
Police said the incident took place around 9.45 pm when Suheil was returning home from work on his two-wheeler. He stopped at a traffic signal on Madiwala Main Road when four assailants on two bikes surrounded him and fatally attacked him with machetes as other motorists watched before fleeing the spot. The police have recovered the machete that was left behind by the accused. A murder case was registered at the Madiwala police station.
Though the exact motive for the murder is yet to be ascertained, police suspect it to be a revenge killing. Suheil’s brother, Kaleem, along with three others had murdered Shabbir in Bandepalya on January 13 and was subsequently jailed. Preliminary investigation showed no criminal record for Suheil, but had allegedly provided financial support to his brother for the murder, which is suspected to be the motive behind his killing.
