Assembly proceedings handed over

PALAKKAD: Additional district magistrate P Surendranathan on behalf of the State Government handed over the copy of the proceedings of the 12th Kerala Assembly in connection with the condolences offered by the members of the house on the demise of former Local Administration Minister C M Sundaram to his daughter Ranjini at their house in Chathapuram, Kalpathy, on Monday.

The others present include Huzur sherestadaar K Chandrika and Palakkad Tahsildar Swaminathan.

The late C M Sundaram was born to Chathapuram C S Mahadeva Iyer and C S Saraswathi Amma in 1919.

He had participated in the Quit India Movement and while in Mumbai had floated the Greater Mumbai Tenants Union aimed at rehabilitating the slum dwellers.

He was also a member of the Palakkad municipality many times and its Chairman for three years.
