CIAL introduces ION Scan

NEDUMBASSERY: The Cochin International Airpor t Ltd (CIAL) has made remarkable progress in strengthening safety arrangements at the airport with the introduction of three ION Scan 500 DTs, the state-of-the-art explosive detector.

The ION Scan device can detect any type of minute explosive particles weighing even a nanogram quantity, said airport director A C K Nair. The new device can alert about any type of explosive available in the world.

ION Scan detectors which cost around Rs 80 lakh will be used at the International, Domestic and Cargo terminals.
