Akshaya Thritheeya Kanakadhara Yagnam begins

KALADY:  Swarnathu Manakkal Narayanan Namboodiri recited the Kanakadhara Sthothram to mark the beginning of the fiveday Akshaya Thritheeya Kanakadhara Yagnam at the Sree Krishna Swamy Temple at Kalady on Saturday evening.

Narayanan Namboodiri inaugurated the Yagnam by lighting the traditional lamp. As many as 32 brahmin scholars will recite the Kanakadhara Sthotham for about 10008 times in connection with the Yagnam.

Kanakadhara, Mahalakshmi Yantra and gold and silver gooseberries have been offered before Lakshmi Narayanan deities.

The offerings, after performing the Kanakabhishekam, will be distributed on April 27, the Akshaya Thritheeya day.

The Mathruvandanam, honouring of 32 mothers, will be held on April 29, the Adi Sankara Jayanthi day. The Yagnam wi l l conclude on Sankara Jayanthi day.
