PATHANAMTHITTA: The 77th Manjinikkara Perunnal in memory of Moran Mor Ignathios Elias III and the annual pilgrimage will be held from February 8 to 14.
Addressing newsmen at Manjinikara Dayara at Omallur near here on Tuesday, celebrations committee chairman Geevarghese Mor Devanasios said that as part of the perunnal, all the churches under the Syrian Jacobite Church would hoist Patriarch flag on February 8.
Special Mass would be held at Manjinikkara Dayara Church under the leadership of Yuhananon Mor Milithios, Geevarghese Mor Athanasios and Mathews Mor Thevodosios at 8 a.m. on February 8.
Manjinikkara Dayara head Geevarghese Mor Devanasios would hoist the flag at Omallur Cross Junction at 6 pm.
The Manjinikkara special convention would be inaugurated by Geevarghese Mor Devanasios at 7.30 pm on February 9. As part of the perunnal, free clothes would be distributed to poor families by DySP Sabu P Idiculla at a function to be held at 6 pm on February 12.
On February 13, a traditional reception would be given to the participants of the pilgrimage at Omallur Cross Junction at 3 pm.
The pilgrimage participants would be accorded a reception on their arrival at Manjinikkara Dayara at 4 pm.
Transport Minister Mathew T Thomas would inaugurate the valedictory function to be held as part of the perunnal on Dayara premises at 6 pm. Head of Syrian Jacobite Church Baselios Thomas I would deliver the presidential address.
Patriarch representative Malki Mor Severios Murad would deliver the benedictory address. Yuhananon Mor Phelxinos would deliver the key-note address.
The perunnal would conclude with special mass at Dayara Church to be held at 3 am on February 14.
Celebrations committee vice-chairman Geevarghese Mor Athanasios, convener Fr Roby Jose Aryattu and Binu Vazhamuttam were present at the conference.
