PALAKKAD: The banks have an important role to play in the success of the Prime Minister’s Rozgar Yojana (PMRY) which is aimed at providing employment to the youths, according to P K Biju MP.

He was speaking after inaugurating the district-level workshop organised by the Kerala Khadi and Village Industries Board at the Amiya Mahal in Alathur on Wednesday.

He said that the District Industries Centre and the Khadi and Village Industries Board should see that there was participation from educated youths in the scheme.

Biju said that such schemes would solve the grave unemployment faced by the youths in the country.

A lathur Block Panchayat president K N Narayanan presided over the meet. Khadi Board director M K Rajendran and District Industries Centre general manager Mohanan spoke.
