Writer Sippy Pallipuram honoured

CHERAI: Writer Sippy Pallipuram, who has been selected for the national award for children's literature by the Sahitya Akademi, was honoured at his home village at Pallipuram on Saturday.

CHERAI: Writer Sippy Pallipuram, who has been selected for the national award for children's literature by the Sahitya Akademi, was honoured at his home village at Pallipuram on Saturday.

Fisheries Minister S Sarma visited Sippy at his residence to congratulate him on behalf of the State Government.

Sippy Master has been selected for the award for his novel Oridathoru Kunjunni, which describes his memories of Kunjunni Master.

The award is likely to be presented to Sippy on Children's Day. Sippy has been into children's literature for four decades. He has received several national and state awards.

The awards he received are the national award for children's literature for his book Chenda, Bheema Children's literature award for Pooram, Kairalee Children's Book Trust Award and Thrissur Sahrudaya Vedi Award for his book Thathakalude Gramam in 1988, Kerala Sahitya Akademi Endowment for Appuppan Thadiyude Swarga Yathra and so on.
