ALUVA: The management and students of St Mary’s  High School here accorded a warm reception to Joshy Joseph Kadamakudy who bagged five national film critics awards. Joshy who is the director of Kolkota National Film Division belongs to Kadamakudy, near here.

Joshy won the awards for his Manipuri films ‘Barag and Babu Bilous’ and English films ‘Center for Silence’, ‘Making the Face’ and ‘Waiting the Face’.

Joshy, a filmmaker proved to be an important critic also. His commitment to  documentary in particular sets him apart from many of those writing on cinema in the country.

Joshy Joseph inaugurated the Vidyarangam Kalasahithya Vedi and various clubs at the school.
