KOZHIKODE: Actor Jagathy Sreekumar, who had been undergoing treatment at the Malabar Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS) Hospital here after a car accident, was shifted to Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore, for neuro and comprehensive rehabilitation on Thursday morning.

The hospital authorities transported Sreekumar to Karipur International Airport in their mobile ICU at 7.30 am on Thursday. At the airport, he was handed over to the doctor and a nurse in the Air Ambulance (flight) arranged by Air

Travel Enterprises Limited, said a medical bulletin issued by MIMS on Thursday. The flight took off at 8.40 am and landed at Arakkonam, Chennai, by 9.50 am and he was taken to CMC hospital in an ambulance from Arakkonam, said MIMS Hospital authorities. The health condition of the 61-year-old actor is stable, added the medical bulletin.

Sreekumar was seriously injured when his car hit a road median near Thenhippalam in Malappuram district on March 10.

He was proceeding to Coorg in Karnataka for the shooting of Idavapathy, a film by Lenin Rajendran, when the incident happened.
