Actor Saikumar on Thursday appeared before the Kollam Chief Judicial Magistrate Court and gave statement in a case filed against him by his wife Prasanna Kumari under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act.
CJM Santhosh Kumar posted the case for final hearing on June 15. The petition was filed by Prasanna Kumari in May 2009, following a divorce petition initiated by Saikumar at the Family Court.
The petition seeks monthly maintenance, protection order and order restraining the the respondent from dispossessing the possession of shared residence under section 18,19 and 20 of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005. The petition also seeks the respondent (Saikumar) to pay the loans over the house and car.
The hearing on the petition was delayed as Prasanna Kumari had to undergo some medical treatment, sources said.
The divorce petition is pending before the Kollam Family Court.
