Express News Service

The Judicial First Class Magistrate court here on Thursday accepted the withdrawal petition of a case against Bineesh Kodiyeri, son of  Kodiyeri Balakrishnan.

According to  sources, the prosecution took a non-committal stance to the

withdrawal petition that was filed during the tenure of previous LDF government in which Kodiyeri Balakrishnan was the Home Minister.

The case was registered in connection with charges relating to attacking police officials and destroying police vehicles during a DYFI-SFI march in 2005.

When the withdrawal petition was filed in the court, a section of officers had objected to the move. During the last tenure of the LDF Government, many cases registered against Bineesh were withdrawn.
