Jailbreak: One more nabbed

After 10 days of intensive search operations in the forest areas near Bovikanam, the police on Thursday evening made the second arrest in the jailbreak incident on November 20.

Rajesh, 34, one of the four prisoners who had escaped from the Kasargod Sub-Jail, was nabbed from a forest area at Parthakochi in Mulleria. According to Adur CI Satheesh Kumar, a team led by SP S Surendran, CI T P Ranjith and himself arrested Rajesh following a tip-off received by Adur SI Damodaran.

The police are questioning the accused, who reportedly said that the other two jail escapees separated from him a couple of days ago.

He will be produced before the Judicial First Class Magistrate on Friday. The police had rearrested Mohammed Iqbal, a twin murder accused, near Manjeswaram within hours of their escape.

Thekkan Rajan, 62, accused in an illicit liquor supply case and a resident of Mundakkayam in Kottayam, and Mohammed Rasheed, 32, of Hosabettu in Manjeswaram are still at large.
