Thousands partake of Ashtamirohini Vallasadya

Thousands participated in the Ashtamirohini Vallasadya, organised as part of the Sree Krishna Jayanti celebrations, at Aranmula Lord Parthasarathy Temple on Saturday. The vallasadya distribution, which began at 12 noon extended up to 3 pm.

NSS president P N Narendranathan Nair  lighted the traditional lamp, marking the annual ceremony. Kerala High Court Justice C N Ramachandran Nair inaugurated the vallasadya.   K Sivadasan Nair MLA, Palliyoda Seva Sangham president K V Sambadevan, secretary Ratheesh R Mohan, treasurer Mohanachandran, Ayyappa Seva Sangham vice-president D Vijayakumar, High Court observers Jaganmohandas and Ravindran Nair and Pathanamthitta Devaswom deputy commissioner  Balachandran were present at the ceremony.

  Before the distribution of the vallasadya, the palliyodam members were given a traditional reception on their arrival at the temple kadavu and led them in procession in front of the golden flagmast after circumambulating the nalambalam.

  The distribution of the vallasadya to the devotees began after the Uchchapooja.  By 12 noon, the temple premises were flooded with devotees who were given food on the south-east and south sides of the nalambalam. While north and west sides of the nalambalam were earmarked for the members of the palliyodams.  

A 350-member team prepared and distributed the vallasadya.
