J C Daniel Award for Sasikumar

Director J Sasikumar has been selected for the J C Daniel Award for 2012 for his overall contribution to Malayalam cinema.

Announcing the award here on Wednesday, Forests and Cinema Minister K B Ganesh Kumar said the award is in recognition to Sasikumar’s valuable contributions to the film field. The award winner was selected by a jury headed by M K Arjunan and with S Priyadarsan, Sukumari, Raghavan and Cultural Affairs Department Secretary Sajan Peter as members.

The jury recommended to the government to officially register the records of Sasikumar, including directing the maximum number of films (141), directing the maximum number of films with a single lead actor and directing maximum number of films in an year.
