Not just a cheating case, says Kodiyeri

Express News Service

The issue of telephone calls allegedly made by the Chief Minister’s personal assistant Tenny Joppen to a ‘con woman’ created ruckus in the Assembly on Thursday.

Opposition deputy leader Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said there was prima facie evidence against Joppen. This could not be treated as just another case of cheating because the Chief Minister’s Office itself had come under the cloud.  “We thought the Chief Minister would order an investigation by keeping his staffer out.

This shows the Chief Minister is also involved,” he  said.

Although Kodiyeri attempted to table the details of the controversial calls in the House, the Speaker declined to accept them, saying the material would not be treated as Assembly property.
