Monorail deals to be inked on Wednesday

The agreement for the implementation of Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode monorail projects will be signed on Wednesday. Public Works Minister V K Ebrahim Kunju said the agreement will be signed in the presence of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, who is also the Chairman of Kerala Monorail Corporation, Speaker G Karthikeyan, other ministers and Principal Adviser DMRC E Sreedharan. “The contract will be signed between the Kerala Monorail Corporation and DMRC, which is the general consultant of monorail project. Instructions have been given to initiate preliminary proceedings once the contract is signed,” he said. As part of the procedures, tender proceedings will be started. Monorail offices will start functioning simultaneously in Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode.
